Mariana survives on tourism. This is one of the most important historical cities in the country. Founded in 1696, it preserves lots of churches, mansions and monuments from the colonial Brazil, when this region was rich in gold.
The city center and the historical center were not affected by the disaster. Many people have been canceling their hotel reservations or opting to visit other places. Please don’t do that! Mariana, more than ever, needs us!
